The Louise Eatroff Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Louise Eatroff Memorial College Scholarship Fund supports education through college scholrships for eligible students.

The scholarships provide funding for Tuition and Fees and Room and Board. The goal is to fund the entire annual cost of tuition, fees, room and board (after application of any available Bright Futures Scholarship) for each student chosen for up to four consecutive years of undergraduate study. 

The Louise G. Eatroff Memorial College Scholarship Fund has been endowed by Nancy Geltman Resnick and Dr. Richard Eatroff as a means of both honoring Louise’s memory and assuring that the significance of her life will be remembered not just today or tomorrow, but well into the future. Her devotion to the Tampa Jewish Community Center, having served as its president for two terms, is well known. She was involved in many of its programs and worked tirelessly on its behalf lived by the Jewish values of Tzedekah and Tikkun Olam, and she believed wholeheartedly that a college education opens the door to countless opportunities for fulfillment and success in life.

Rhodes College Jewish Community Fellowship

Rhodes College is pleased to make available five $10,000 merit scholarships to students who participate in Jewish life in their communities across the United States. 

Students must apply to Rhodes College either Early Decision by November 1 or Early Action by November 15, be offered admission for the following semester, and choose to enroll at Rhodes. The scholarship application requires a cover letter, resume, and 500-word essay. JCP has convened an evaluation committee, which will review all applications and make recommendations to Rhodes based on each applicant’s participation in Jewish life, service to the community, and essay. The online application and essay prompt are available here.. 

Fellowship applications will be reviewed by Jewish Community Partners (JCP) of Memphis and JCP will recommend applicants to Rhodes based on their participation in Jewish life and service and based on the responses to an essay prompt. A cover letter, a resume, and a 500-word essay will be required for the JCP recommendation. The essay prompt can be found below.

Recommended students will be considered for admission and scholarship to Rhodes on a competitive basis. Students winning scholarship recognition will receive a Jewish Community Fellowship from Rhodes of $10,000 renewable for up to three years.

Fellowship awardees are expected to become active in Jewish life at Rhodes and to fulfill the following requirements:

• Assume a leadership role at Hillel of Rhodes
• Write an article about Jewish life at Rhodes for print and electronic distribution
• Make a presentation about Jewish life at Rhodes at a Jewish Community Partners board meeting

Spertus Scholarship for Jewish Professional Studies

Graduate Scholarships Available for Employees of Jewish Organizations. Spertus Institute’s MA in Jewish Professional Studies lets you earn your graduate degree without leaving your job. Substantial scholarships offset tuition costs as you gain expertise and the skills to advance your career.

Knapp Campus Leadership Award

The Jules and Gwen Knapp Campus Leadership Award is given annually to a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university who demonstrates extraordinary leadership abilities and has a minimum GPA of 2.5. Applicants must self-identify as Jewish and commit to attending at least one Hillel event in the upcoming school year. Previous attendance at Hillel events is NOT a requirement for this scholarship.

Renewable for up to two additional school years, in addition to the first year. Not renewable after the third school year/payment or student’s completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first.

Knapp First-Generation Student Award

Jules and Gwen Knapp believed deeply in the power of higher education to transform the lives of individuals and families, and have dedicated this award to that pursuit. Top applicants will have a current GPA of 2.5 or higher, and a demonstrated impact of leadership, entrepreneurship, and/or volunteerism in their local or campus community. To qualify as a first-generation student, the applicant’s parents/guardians must not have completed a four-year college or university degree.

Renewable for up to three additional school years, in addition to the first year. Not renewable after the fourth school year/payment or student’s completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first.

Lilly E. Reiser Undergraduate Student Scholarship

The Lilly E. Reiser Undergraduate Student $10,000 Scholarship will be awarded annually to eight graduating high school seniors or students on a gap year who are preparing to seek a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university in the United States. Applicants must demonstrate a record of leadership and/or volunteer service in any aspect of their local community, and must also self-identify as Jewish.

Renewable for up to three additional school years, in addition to the first year. Not renewable after fourth school year/payment or student’s completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first.

Lilly E. Reiser Graduate Scholarship

Lilly E. Reiser believed deeply in the power of higher education to transform the lives of individuals and families, and has dedicated this award to that pursuit. In support of Hillel’s mission to enrich the lives of Jewish students so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world, we are pleased to offer five different scholarship opportunities to Jewish students for the 2024-25 academic year.

The Lilly E. Reiser Graduate Student Award is given annually to a Jewish student who will be attending graduate school in the U.S. in the upcoming school year and who has demonstrated academic excellence and made a difference in their community. Applicants must have completed or be on track to complete their undergraduate degree by June 30, 2024, and be attending graduate school in the fall of 2024. Applicants must self-identify as Jewish. Previous attendance at Hillel events is NOT a requirement for this scholarship. There is no requirement for the concentration of study.

Inspection Support Network Skilled Trade and Technology Scholarship

Overview

Growing demand and lack of qualified workers in skilled trades and technology means it’s a great time to go back to school and enter these lucrative and fast-growing industries.

To help keep up with demand and assist the next generation of professionals, ISN will award a $2,000 scholarship four times a year to eligible students.

Eligibility

• Must be 18 years or over and currently be enrolled as a high school senior, or in a community college, undergraduate, graduate, technical college, or vocational program in The United States.
• Must have a minimum 3.4 GPA.
• Must be pursuing a degree that enables you or others in your community to learn a new trade, develop skills and technology, or start a small business related to home services offered by ISN.
• Must be a legal resident of the United States.

Hillel International Scholarships

Get money for college! Hillel International scholarships are open to students who identify as Jewish, in the U.S. and Canada, who are attending or preparing to attend four-year colleges and universities or graduate school.

Google Lime Scholarship

Since 2008, Google is proud to support the work of Lime Connect. Recipients of the 2024 Google Lime Scholarship will each receive a scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year. Designed for students with disabilities, $10,000 scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of candidates’ academic background and a demonstrated passion for computer science for students studying in the U.S. (based on tuition costs). Feldman Family Scholarship

Due to the generosity of Dr. William and Mrs. Mary Feldman, the Tidewater Jewish Foundation is pleased to provide an annual scholarship to Jewish students living in Virginia, with priority to those from the Hampton Roads area, accepted to matriculate at a Virginia-based institution for a degree in their chosen healthcare field. Annual requests are confidentially reviewed by our scholarship committee and approved by the Tidewater Jewish Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

This grant is for $10,000 and applications are accepted between May 1 and July 1 each year.

Kobrin Family Scholarship (UCF)

The Kobrin Family Scholarship was established in 1990 to be awarded to a qualified, full-time, graduating high school student from the Jewish communities of Orange, Osceola, or Seminole County who will be attending the University of Central Florida (UCF). The scholarship is available in the amount of $2,500 per year for a maximum of four (4) years. Scholarship recipients must maintain a 3.1 GPA (based on a 4.0 scale) each year while at UCF in order to remain qualified for the scholarship.
