Debbie Koristz is JELF’s Development Director for the South Florida Region. Prior to coming to JELF, Debbie was with the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County for 10 years, where she held several key positions as Development Officer for the Southern Communities and Assistant Director of the Israel & Overseas Projects. Originally born in the United States, Debbie was raised in a small Jewish community in Guatemala, after which she immigrated to Israel where she received her B.A. in Education and Sociology and M.A. in Cognition from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. It was during her time in Israel that she discovered her passion for the Jewish communal field through working at Hadassah Women’s Zionist Organization and the Melton Center for Jewish Education at the Hebrew University. Debbie currently resides in Boynton Beach, Florida with her husband, Shimshon, and their two young daughters, Ellah and Noa.
