Video 2019 JELF Koonin Award, Joanne Birnbrey & Nancy Galanti – 12-9-19

In 2019, JELF awarded Joanne Birnbrey and Nancy Galanti with the Steve and Eydie Koonin Family Service Award.

Originally from White Plains, NY, Nancy attended the University of Florida where she met her husband, Ronnie, a native Atlantan.  She and her husband are business partners and parents of two grown children.  In addition to her involvement JELF, Nancy is closely involved with Birthright Israel’s Atlanta Leadership Council, Congregation Or VeShalom and the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival.

Joanne Birnbrey grew up in Atlanta and has been involved in many philanthropic endeavors through the years.  Most recently, she served as Campaign Chair for the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, and currently serves as a Board Member of the National Women’s Philanthropy of JFNA in addition to being JELF’s Resource Development Co-Chair.  Joanne is married to Eddie, who also serves on the JELF Board, and is a proud mother of four, and grandmother as well.

Together, Joanne and Nancy each serve on JELF’s Board of Directors and have Chaired and Co-Chaired the last five major JELF events all of which have sold out and been extraordinarily successful fundraisers. Thank you, Joanne and Nancy for all of your hard work!
